KINERGY for the HEALTH PROFESSIONAL

Upskill and augment your abilities to propel your career as a wholistic health-care professional. life coach or personal trainer.

This intensive on-line course is designed to enable the therapist to create and deliver effective physical conditioning programs that integrate Eastern & Western exercise strategies for the cultivation of health & wellbeing, and as therapeutic tools for rehabilitation. Expand your therapy toolkit with routines to assess functional capacity, balance, coordination, mobility & posture.

Kinergy Movement Therapy (KMT)

KMT programs are focussed on the promotion of lower-body strength and endurance; enhancing balance, flexibility & agility; stimulating circulation (systemic, peripheral, lymphatic, synovial & cerebrospinal); correcting postural deficits & pathologic or dysfunctional movement patterns; developing coordination; increasing personal energy levels; and, heightening kinaesthetic awareness / acuity.

KMT routines

The routines are generally performed at low to moderate intensity, synchronously with breathing exercises. KMT programs are supplemented with resistance training, aerobic conditioning exercises, warm-up / cool-down routines, and prescribed stretches.

KMT - 21c rehab strategies

KMT exercises are suitable for home as well as workplace practice, and don't require training aids or specialised equipment. In addition, interactive routines are utilised in one-on-one as well as group sessions. These partnership exercises have their origin in martial art training drills, but have been modified to incorporate passive- & active-assist / resist techniques, which are based (in part) on proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) principles.

KMT - Synergy of E & W

Breathing routines are integral to KMT sessions, and are essentially based on diaphragmatic breathing techniques. However, this component extends beyond traditional physiotherapeutic “deep breathing” exercises, and incorporates advanced mind-body-breath training.

Some of the constituent elements of the KMT modality may seem to be somewhat esoteric or foreign to rehabilitation clients & practitioners), however considerable work has been done to ensure that the principles & practices are readily understood and easily assimilable.

FAQ

THE MASTER KEY TO SUCCESS - WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

  • Technique. The exercises are simple (but stimulating), safe, stress-free. But to master the exercises it's essential that they are performed exactly as per the instructions. The point is - practice doesn't make perfect; only perfect practice does. So, please pay close attention.
  • Equipment. You need: a computer to track your progress and play back the videos; an internet link; and access to Zoom for feedback sessions; and a few square meters of floor space to strut your stuff. Aside from that you don’t need any special equipment (you were born with it).

The range of rehabilitation and disease / disability prevention modalities presented within exercise physiology and physiotherapy courses are limited and largely biased towards traditional gym-style exercises, viz., hypertrophy, stretching, and aerobic routines. Whilst these approaches are appropriate for addressing musculoskeletal disability, particularly at a sub-acute stage, their utility is limited for effectively managing, resolving, and preventing chronic and/or complex conditions. In addition to treatments aimed at underlying impairments, I believe that interventions are required for improving mobility, gait strategies, functional performance, cognition, and stress reduction.  And this is where the Kinergetix modality and it’s application in the Kinergy Movement Therapy (KMT) programs is an invaluable tool for Health Practitioners, Therapists and Personal Trainers.
